Fatigue

It is common for athletes training hard to experience a level of fatigue. Nevertheless ongoing, excessive tiredness not only decreases performance but also decreases enjoyment of everyday life.

In some instances it is an indication of a more serious underlying problem.

Health Assessment

Have you spent years too busy with your career, family, 'life', to take time to look after yourself? A health assessment is a chance to take stock of your health and wellbeing. First we look at your sleep, stress factors, nutrition and activity levels. Then we complete a targeted physical exam including blood pressure measurement, height, weight, BMI, waist to height ratio as well as any other more specific exams you may require. For some people laboratory testing may also be warranted (looking at blood levels of, for example; glucose, hormones, cholesterol, iron and calcium).

This allows us to identify your key health risks and enables us to develop a plan specific to you to move you towards a healthier lifestyle.

You will obtain a picture of where your health and wellbeing is currently and in addition a personalized plan with easy stepwise goals to improve your wellbeing.

Disordered Eating/Eating Disorders

Male or female, is your relationship with food negatively impacting on your ability to live life the way you want? Are you spending too much time thinking about, preparing, eating or avoiding food? Or are you finding yourself avoiding social situations because of the food aspect?

We can help you address any issues and regain your control over food.

Where necessary we work with fully qualified dieticians and clinical psychologists.

Weight Management

Is your weight of concern to you? We will help work with you to identify areas that are hindering your ability to attain your goal weight and develop a stepwise plan to work towards your goal.

Nutrition Advice

Are you bamboozled by the advice coming at you from digital media, friends, celebrity chefs etc? Are you concerned you may have a food intolerance? Are you contemplating becoming vegan, paleo, or maybe you've been vegetarian for sometime? Are worried you may not be getting the nutrients your body requires. You want to eat healthily but don't know where to start?

We can help untangle the mess and construct a simple, gimmick free plan, unique to you, that allows you get all the nutrients your body craves and leaves you feeling energized.

Female Athletes (of all levels)

We can help manage your health problem to reduce its impact on your activity and recommend activities beneficial to your health concerns so you can progress to the next level of fitness.

Exercise Prescription

Have you been inactive and are now looking to improve your fitness but are not sure where to begin? Do you have a medical issue which makes you concerned about undertaking a specific activity? Or perhaps you are bored of your current regime and want to try something different? We will assess your physical health and provide guidance to activities suitable for you to participate in. We can help you identify a goal and tailor an exercise plan to suit your specific requirements.

Sports Injury

Have you an injury that is preventing you being as active as you wish? Have you been putting up with an ongoing 'niggle', avoiding doing things that provoke it and hoping it will just go away? We will diagnose, treat and rehabilitate your injury. However we will also endeavor to look further to discover why it developed in the first place, enabling any underlying issues to be addressed and prevent recurrence. Other specialists will be involved when required.

Young Athletes

The multiple health requirements of young athletes are unique. The athlete must adequately manage their time and energy to allow for training, recovery, nutrition, family/friends, fun and study. They need to remain injury free despite the impact of high training loads on their still growing frames and avoid sustaining any damage that could hinder their ability to participate in the physical activities of their choice over the longterm.

It is vital young athletes receive the nutrients necessary to fuel their growth and development in order for them to reach their optimum adult strength and stature.
